Industrial Designer, Tim Krahmer, decided to tackle Tenok for his Masters project in I.D. when he discoverd that many discarded vacuums are easily repairable and that their initial manufacturings accounts for the second largest production of greenhouse gases among electrical products.

These 2 structures (connected by a skybridge and hall below) strongly demonstrate heavy vs. lite / up vs. down / light vs. dark. More here.
Mural Wrap-Up
First, GO VOTE! (if you haven’t yet) and second, swing through the alley behind our house and check out the completed mural by Nina Marasco (if you live in Denver). She’s hoping to design more around town (and maybe beyond) over the winter, then hopefully start painting again in the Spring.
Torsus School Bus
I predict these will replace the Dodge Sprinters in the next 5 years as the go-to camper conversion vehicle. Torsus has multiple bad-ass styles already available. More here.
Mural Update
Nina should be back today - getting close.
Sean Connery (Aug. 25, 1930 - Oct. 31, 2020)
Reused Brick (Brooklyn)
Love how playful this wall is…variety of bricks and stones, bands of color, rocks stacked over door, layers, groupings, etc.
3D Printed Textiles - MIT Media Lab
I’ve been waiting for this type of application to develop and looks like the folks at MIT are pushing the boundaries of 3D printing. See more here.
Cabin Anna - Caspar Schols
A structure that slides open to embrace surroundings. Lots of seductive pictures here.
Venus Fly Traps
Creepy but pretty cool. How do they remember they’ve caught an insect? Japanese scientists are working on it and here’s what they’ve learned.
The Ocean Cleanup
Boyan Slat was just 18 when he founded The Ocean Cleanup, an ambitious system for removing plastic waste out of the world's waterways. The aim is for plastics-free oceans by 2050.
Mural
Our friend, Nina Marasco, has started a mural on our garage. We love it. Keep an eye out for updates.
Airstream Living (Family + 4 dogs) During Covid Times
Looks and sounds dreamy - good to hear the challenges too. More here.

Heringer’s work tends to use local materials/trades, traditional construction techniques and elegant forms. More here.
Wimbledon House 1966 - Richard and Su Rogers
Rogers would win the competition 5 years later to do the Pompidou Center with Renzo Piano. This was an early project done for his Richards’ parents. Read more here.
Holographic Display from Fan Blades
This is one of the cooler technologies I’ve run across - might need to do a Halloween-themed one. Check it out here.
3-2-1...Launch!
We all (+ a friend) gave it a try - went straight, didn’t sink, took on a little water through the plastic but otherwise handled nicely. All in all, not too bad for some plywood, drywall screws, plastic wrap and packing tape.
League of Women Voters
The LWV is an excellent resource for reviewing information regarding the (23) ballot issues in CO. There are three (double sided) pages on the mail-in ballot, so read up and vote early.
