Amsterdam

My favorite foreign City. Bikes, boats, coffee shops, bridges and very pedestrian friendly. Also, lots of old buildings retrofit with modern design. Can’t wait to revisit one of these days.

The new seedlings have begun

Emily has started yellow peppers, rosemary & lavender. The trick seems to be using a heat pad to fool the seeds into “thinking” the ground is warm enough to “hatch” and then a grow light to help the tiny plants “believe” the sun is out longer.

Here’s the screenshot captured by Bradford Akerman from the night of the memorial which he generously shared. In the body of the image, Dave & Brynn Manzella were conveying their relationship with Seth (Cindy, Fae & Lowa) before their (beautiful, funny, poignant) family song played.

Brad commented when he studied this picture he felt the care of the community from across the country and pointed out ’those lovin’ eye’s’ as more evidence.

Thank you everyone for helping and/or joining. If you were unable to attend or would like to view it again, here is recorded Zoom link.

Sanborn Camps - Florissant CO

Lots of fantastic memories.

Seth, Cindy, the kids and our family went back this past summer and camped for the weekend. Seth and I got to peel off and hike around and through Big Springs (boys camp). He said that he couldn’t remember many specifics but mostly just the overall good feelings of being there, back in ‘89. I suspect he couldn’t easily recall the events because he was often so presently in the moment.

Seth

Here’s the bike Seth built. I believe this experience was a birthday gift from Cindy (his wife).

hanging stairs (alternating tread)

In the early nineties, some friends were building a set of these (not nearly as minimal) in Fayetteville AR - ever since, I’ve wanted to incorporate some into a small cabin or tiny house.

NOTE: You can almost picture a disaster at the bottom…maybe a soft landing? I could imagine a dense shag white strip from the (L) corner all the way to the peninsula (same width as stairs).
